“Vozo has become a very convenient tool for video translation, thanks to its flexible editing and the ability to quickly adjust voiceovers.”
— Media Team
A Ukraine-based media team produces interview-driven content focused on war- and military-related topics, publishing across multiple YouTube channels, including Volodymyr Zolkin and Apostle Dmytro Karpenko, reaching a combined audience of over 3 million subscribers. Their work centers on real interviews, with a mission to give audiences direct access to first-hand accounts—presenting a more immediate and unfiltered view of lived experiences.
To reach a broader audience, they translate their content from Russian into English, making these stories accessible to international viewers.
Challenge
The team operates at a high publishing frequency, producing long-form interview content and distributing it across several YouTube channels. As their output grew, so did the need to reach English-speaking audiences.
While subtitles made the content accessible, they were not always sufficient—especially for interview-based videos where tone, pacing, and nuance play a critical role.
At the same time, moving to full translation and dubbing introduced new challenges:
- Long-form content required a highly efficient translation and dubbing process
- Maintaining accuracy while adjusting tone and delivery added complexity
- Frequent revisions across different segments made the workflow harder to manage
- Mismatches between translated text and original dialogue created alignment issues
With continuous production demands, they needed a scalable workflow—not just a one-off solution.
Solution
With Vozo, the team established a more flexible and efficient video localization workflow, covering both translation and dubbing in a single process.
Several capabilities proved especially valuable:
- Flexible script and voice editing
The team can easily modify translated text and regenerate voiceovers, allowing them to refine tone and expression as needed. - Voice regeneration and fine control
When the initial output doesn’t meet expectations, they can quickly regenerate or adjust voiceovers without restarting the entire process. - Pause and pacingcontrol
By adding pauses within the script, they can better match the rhythm of the original video and improve overall viewing flow. - Segment-level editing
The ability to add or adjust segments helps resolve mismatches between translation length and original dialogue, while maintaining lip-sync quality. - Original language restoration
Certain segments can be reverted back to the original language when needed, adding flexibility during editing.
Results
With Vozo, the team successfully launched an English-language YouTube channel (POWs: Apostle Dmytro Karpenko) to reach a broader international audience. The channel has already attracted a growing audience and continues to gain traction over time.
More importantly, their production workflow has become significantly more efficient—supporting high-frequency publishing across multiple channels while reducing the complexity of translation and dubbing.
